Rathke's cleft cyst
Rathke's pouch is a normal developmental structure that eventually forms the anterior lobe, pars intermedia and pars tuberalis of the pituitary gland. This pouch normally closes, but if not, the remnant cleft gives rise to a large cyst in the pituitary gland.
