Neuralgia
Neuralgia is a condition in which there is a sharp, unexpected pain along a nerve that is due to the irritation and damage of that nerve. Chemicals, diseases such as diabetes, medications, previous surgery, and trauma are potential causes of neuralgia. Numbness and weakness of the muscles supplied by the nerve are additional symptoms.
