Viral meningitis
Viral meningitis is a condition in which viruses have entered the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) around the brain and spinal cord, and are causing an infection. For normal people with normal protection from their immune system, viral meningitis causes stiff neck and bad headaches but resolves by itself, usually without damaging the brain or spinal cord.
