IV magnesium sulfate
Magnesium sulfate is an intravenous medication that relaxes smooth muscles and decreases nerve excitability. It can be used to prevent preterm labor and to prevent seizures from occurring. It is the preferred treatment of seizures in pregnant or post-partum women.
