Low levels of electrolytes in your system can contribute to leg cramps, especially calcium, potassium, magnesium and sodium. A prenatal vitamin can usually provide enough of these elements to prevent cramping, but adding an extra supplement or foods rich in calcium and potassium can help to prevent this from occurring.
